Where do i start in recording??

Hey, a few weeks ago i found an interest in home recording.
But i dont know where to start. Im not sure what to buy or what to invest in. All i have now is a small tascam 4 track tape, and a recording software for my comp.
If ya got an idea to help, i'd really appreciate it!
