Is Acid The Only Software That Can Speed Up The Tempo Of A Song Without Changing The "sound" Of The Song?

I Have Acid, But It Is Acting Up And I Dont Want To Have To Buy It Again!!! This Is The Only Feature I Have Ever Used It For . . . Are There Any Decent "freebie" Programs To Accomplish This Task?

Wavelab does it too!
I don't use it much (never really learned it yet) but I know it has that capability........

You mean changing tempo without changing pitch?

There are a lot of programs that do that. Just do "change tempo" instead of "change speed"

Free programs? Try Audacity

It's this plugin in the Waves plugin pack called soundshifter. I think it does a better job than acid pro. That's coming from a daily acid pro user.

Word Up!!! Thanks For The Info. I Will Be Workin On That Shit Tonite!!

Your welcome homie. First time i heard the soundshifter, i couldn't believe how it changed the pitch so well. Only downside, it uses alot of processing power. So if you plan to run alot of plugins, i wouldn't add this one or your project will crash. Unless, you have alot of ram(which i don't: 256mb)

yo u know anything about the synth sounds used in most west coast/down south hip hop ? i swear its on my triton, but I cant find it!!! Lil Boosie used it in his song "swerve" . . .

It could either be in the program or combination category. I think most of the synths are under lead, or fast. I can't remember what the categories are called in combination mode. Just go through all the sounds until you find what you like. You got the big Triton or the LE?

i got the studio editoin - it has taken me all day (whew!!!) to scroll through all the sounds loaded "naturally" in sequence mode - now i gotta scroll through them in the combination mode? dammmm

n i gotta go to work tomrrow!!! shame shame shame
