I picked up an older set of Alesis ProLinear DSP 720 active nearfield monitors.
These monitors are about 10 years old as best as I can guess.
(I've been reading reviews written in 2004)
They come with firmware that runs on Windows...hooking up the monitors with an extra 9 pin serial cable allows adjustments to the monitors from the PC...
The firmware is not available on the ALESIS website as this item is discontinued.
Since my computer is also old it just happens to have the needed serial port to run this type of connection.
I am looking for this software/firmware.
This firmware is named ALESIS ProLinear DSP
I went to a half dozen sites and found suspicious downloading toolbars ready to be installed so I backed out and took a pause.
Maybe you have a link, or a copy of the software/firmware that you can provide to me.
