Greetings,
I've got a cheapie Fostex Recorder/Mixer. Once I got an "EQ suggestion-guidline" for mixing vocals and instruments from this site. Problem is, my mixer only has the actual numbers (like 300k, 5k, yada- yada) on the mid-range knob. The "high-end" and "low-end" knobs just have a "0" at the twelve o'clock position, and simple black marks for the remainder of the positions.

How do I know what I'm "dialing in" on the high's and low's? Are they the same as the mid-range, but just not labeled? By the way, the mid's are sweepable.
Thanks much.

The "Low" and "High" eq you refer to are actually set at a fixed frequency, and the Low effects that frequency and below it, and the High effects that frequency and above it. At the 12 o'clock position, the eq is doing nothing, known as "flat". Turning it to the right increases and turning to the left decreases the effected frequencies.

Your owners manual MIGHT have listed somewhere at what frequency the Low and High eq knobs are set at. Usually the low is between 80Hz and 120Hz, and the high between 8KHz and 12KHz. You will need to check out the documentation to find at exactly what it is though on your unit.

Good luck.

Thanks Ed,
I'll check out the manual. That's always the last resort. (he-he)
