Does anyone know if there exists software that converts that nice scroller in the middle of a mouse into MIDI? If so, can it emulate well-known controllers, ie HUI?? If not, why hasn't anyone made it?

This would have been useful for instance in mixing in your favourite DAW (read: Pro Tools). Especially useful for controlling faders (and knobs, maybe the parameter you roll over). It would be touch sensitive. It would be better than BCF2000 (if you know how to use the main keyboard shortcuts), and a lot cheaper. Of course you won't get to touch the faders, but at least you'd get good control when recording automation.

And of course it would emulate a well-known midi controller so that your DAW can recognize it.

Does this exist???

There. Now that we've got that out of the way and I won't be implicitly agreeing with your choice of protools, make a vist to KVR and do a search under the 'utility' menu. Search for something like 'typing keyboard controller' or some such. I well remember such a little program/plugin but I've clean forgot it's name...

Maybe my English isn't too good. Sorry about that! MY favourite DAW.

Thanks for the reply. Seems like there might be something useful there.

You should get those results with a translator like midi yoke
