Could be a number of things that are in a FX library. It's kinda like an air horn with some bells and whistles (not literally) of verb, echo, delay.

Remember that the laser shots in Star Wars was produced by hitting a spoon on a guide wire line to a telephone pole. Check it out next time your near one put your ear right on it and strike it with anything hard like a rock or similar object.

It is such a weird thing to describe, its like bowed feedback!!! I'd love to know :D

And yeah, i was aware of that bit of star wars trivia, and no matter how many times i hear it, it still amazes me. Shear genius.

Then it's a slowed down reverse large bell tone, try to duplicate it that way

Oops that may be the second FX sound at :26. The one at :16 may be a single bowed string with a stomp box but more than likely it was produced from a keyboard sample.

..Kind of reminiscent of the sound I got making a 'spring reverb' once (i.e; FAIL.. :p

HA HA HA HA :D
I have many failed projects as well! All involved electricity. And once I regained consciousness I had many cool FX sounds still ringing in my ears!
Wish I could of had a microphone in my brain for those times. :laughings: though I can still hear them as if it was yesterday!

Dang this hang time and double posting!

Yeah if you were smart you would trade mark a brain microphone!

I reckon it could be the sound of a drum cymbal, bowed with a cello or double bass bow and treated with some kind of FX. It sounds like a noise my mate used to make when we'd jam and I would try my hand at double bass.

I think it's a waterphone. They used to use them in old horror movies. Check it out on you tube. Good luck finding one!

HOLY SHIT!!!!

THATS IT!!!!!!

I never for the life of me would have thought that an instrument was capable of making those noises on its own!!!

That is truely incredible and has gone straight to the list of 'THINGS I WANT!!!'

Thank you so so much dude :D

*goes to ebay to look for waterphones*
:P

What is a waterphone? how does it work? and how do you play it?

YouTube - The Aquasonic Waterphone

By the looks of it, the bow resonates the prong, that goes down into a chamber at the bottom which I assume has water in it which is where the sound goes all crazy :D

I'll let you know how that sound library is when i get my download link too.

Man, that sound that the guy in the video gets sets my teeth on edge. It's horrible !
