I feel kinda stupid asking this, bit I've never had to use this feature. I always used to record stuff on my TASCAM 788, then I would use CUBASE to mix down the stereo mix...But recently, my 788 blew up, so I'm using CUBASE to mix down my songs track by track.

So here's my question: How do I use the "Automation" feature. How do I do something as simple as turning up the guitar for the solo and saving that. It says that the "Read" feature records any changes....But I can't seem to get that happening. WWhat am i missing???

the manual explains this fairly easy.
have the "w" for write enabled on your track/tracks.
play back the song and move faders...once done...stop song....shut off "w" and turn on "r" for read...play back again!
You can also do this for eq/effects for certain parts.

Thanx Mark. Yes I did read that part of the manual. I think I didn't phrase my question right. Let me ask you this. Do I have to go through the whole tune, or can I "write" just between the L and R Markers?

Hi Rami.

You can either choose to use the W write and R read buttons, or in the project timeline view if you expand the track properties you can use a more 'drag and drop' kind of interface to set parameters that you want to automate.

You should learn to do this - it is one of the most powerful, best features of the program.

Let me know if you have any questions...
