You know what's weird - I've been looking at the GigPig website for a few years, even contacted them, and it appears that since post 12 they have totally evaporated.

It's basically a cajon with a bass drum built in and a hihat attached - a 1 pc drumset, and it's on wheels. The kick pedal reaches around front and the bass drum head is on the front. To me it's the coolest solution to a small drumset I've ever seen. Kind of a cross between a cajon and a cocktail set.

I contacted them a year ago and they were going to sell me the hardware so I could make my own organic non-plastic one but I couldn't afford the parts at the time. I would still like to make one as it would be cool to have in the corner and just grab it and play. I suck at hand percussion and like sticks and two pedals so the GigPig really appealed to me.

There's some vids on YouTube, but the ones there aren't so good... the ones on the GigPig site were much better...

Maybe that hardware purchase would've kept them around for a little longer. :D

So that's why you don't like the cajon !! :D

That is a big part of it. And I think the reason I suck at hand percussion is that I like rhythms with at least 3 limbs. That's what I hear in my head... two limbs is boring to me. It's incomplete, like hihat and snare with no kick. I ended up making a small foot operated cajon for a kick drum sort-of-sound when I was playing gigs on cajon so that I could have three limbs. I don't mind playing with my fingers sometimes... I do that on drumset.

Now I must live with that guilt forever. :(

I wouldn't mind making one that was just two sounds on top, plus a kick and some sort of hihat thingy - wouldn't even have to be two cymbals. I think it would be cool as an alternate low volume drumset. Or something to teach people rhythms on. People who don't have room for a drumset could have one in the corner, pull it out and play.
