When it comes to sound cards

What is the difference between

Balanced and un-balance in/out puts

such as RCA are un balanced and 1/4 Jack is balanced?

is balanced in/out puts better for certain recording of instruments such as maybe acoustic instruments such as classical guitars, vocals etc,is un blance better for digital instruments like keyboards.

Im really abit confussed on this one?

I wanna make sure i get the card thats right for me (keyboard/digital piano player)

Cheers :)

balanced is louder. Balanced cables are xlr (mic cables) or trs 1/4" (look like stereo plugs with 2 bands instead of 1).

it's not that their necessarily louder or "better". Balancing an audio signal is a way of reducing interference that may be introduced into your sound. This interference comes in the form of noise such as EMI (electro magnetic interference) and RFI (radio frequency interference). The circuits in a balanced output do a little trick to your audio signal so that when it gets to the balanced input on the other end it can cancel any noise that may have been introduced (provided you are using proper cables)

The "louder" concept is just a side effect of this process.
