Whats the differce between ALT 3-4 and Main Output + PFL

Im puzzled what the difference between the ALT 3-4 and the main mix is on my mixer1 I have only used the alt 3-4.

Where do you plug the main outputs to. Are they esential when recoring vocals and keyboards + drums?

Also ive never used the Pre fade lisson well mayb cause ive never needed it but to broaden my knowlage i would like to now!

I have read tweaks guide but there is no atomany of mixing desk

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your mixer, and find the block diagram of that mixer. Print it out and keep it handy for reference.
The block diagram is a sort of dumbed down schematic that serves as a road map for signal flow through your mixer.
