Slowing becoming un-noob.
A Warwick Corvette Standard Bass.

My buddy has one. Amazing. Perfect for my needs.

So then budget comes into play.
Is there a bass that has the same feel as this in term of action for under $700?

I know it's a lot to ask. But I figure if there is something similar, you brilliant folks will probably know of it.

Thanks so much!

Elliot

I was looking into the Rockbass by Warwick...Mixed reviews, and I've heard they are shit. But any of you guys know anything about them?

No, sorry. I am an ESP guy now.

Dean makes some really nice basses that are inexpensive, but sometimes availability is an issue because they are assembled in the Ukraine.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try and get to a guitar shop where I can try one out for myself. Looks pretty nice though, still a tad pricey though.

I'll look into those.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

Save up & get the bass you want. You won't need to buy a new one for a long fuckin' time, you'll have what you want, and it'll inspire you to play better. Plus, if you ever want to upgrade/side-grade, you'll have a $1,000 bass to bargain with, vs. a $500 one. Trust me. Look for used (ebay & craigslist are your friends occasionally: beware buying anything without trying it out & make sure there's a fair return policy).

Edit: there's one one Ebay for less than $700 used:

Those are nice, my guitar player has one:) You can get them used in your price range any day. I've seen them new for abut $800.

Well hot damn. Would ya look at that. Too bad I don't have the money right now. Definitely will look used when I have the chance then, thanks!

You said under $700 and that one's just under! And it's the one you wanted, isn't it? The only reason I'm being slightly harsh, is because I've made gear purchasing decisions that I now regret, and I wish someone had been as straightforward and honest with me when I made my decision. Don't take it personally, I'm just tryin' to prevent another broken heart :p

This is almost dangerous to say BUT look around for a 2nd hand Vantage Bass. They were early 80's & VERY well made. Sound great, feel great and generally pretty underestimated and therefore CheaP as ChipS.
