Sometimes when you wanna sample that song but the artist is singing throughout the whole song, how do you get the sample then? Is there some special method for getting sample that you want?
If you can't find a 4 bar section to loop, then go for a 2 bar section, or even 1 bar. You can't get the vocals outta the mix, so you have to work around them. Why not try recreating what you want to sample?
Thanks will do. Just needed to know if I was doing something wrong but I probably just need to open my mind up a little more. Or maybe I need more plug-ins so that I can achieve more results.
Dear God give me patience! Or the money for the plugins
Without a plugin the simplest way is to just take Left minus Right. In your wave editor create separate mono Left and Right versions of the same loop. Invert one of them, then mix them together. Vocals are usually in the center so they go away.
Left-Right tends to be mostly midrange. So if you want to get even fancier, take the original stereo loop and cut the midrange hard so you no longer hear the vocals. Then add the mono Left-Right version to both channels. Now you have a full spectrum loop with virtually no vocals.
This doesn't work as well if there is a lot of reverb on the vocals.
I depends what type of beat your making I guess, but I would sample a two or four bar loop with vocals in it, just sample the part with subtle vocals. If done correctly, it can be ruthless and add more sole to the track. Try to find a sample where the singer is just talking, or mumbling, or going da da da (lol) or something.
