HIya,

I wanna buy some monitors but i have some kind of a dillema right here.
Is it best to buy some active monitors and a mixer. Like the Behringer Truth 2031A and a Behringer UB1832-fx mixer?
Or is it better to get a POWERED MIXER and passive monitors? Like the Behringer PMX 3000 and Tannoy Reveal passive's???
I do wanna have monitors and a mixer, so which one is better to get?

I wanna use it at home to work with Cubase.
Here are the prices of all:
Behringer PMX 3000: 499,- EURO
Behringer UB 1832-fx: 289,- EURO
Behringer Truth 2031A: 185,- EURO (each!)
Tannoy Reveal Passive: 125,- EURO (each!)

For me, i wanna have good quality at home. Not for commercial use of anything, just for my hobby.

If you have other suggestions, please tell me. Every advice is welcome!

Thanks!!!

Definitely don't get a powered mixer for recording. Those are mainly for live use. I have the Truth powered monitors, and they are pretty nice. I'd opt for a Yamaha MG series board over the Behringer mixers, though.

Powered mixer is a poor idea--it is designed for gigs, not sessions.
Powered monitors are a great idea---and the Behringers are merely OK.
But, really, monitors are a tool that allows you to do mixes that translate well on a variety of listening systems. I have had great luck with Blue Sky Pro Desk and, ironically, cheap computer speakers. Go figure.
