this one out there and see what's up!!

My fav, Mr. Microphone. Mic, preamp & effects all in one package. And it's an FM transmitter!! (hi tech)!!

Midiman Audio Buddy is $79 for 2 channels....

thats $39.50 per channel....not exactly in your budget but maybe skip a 6 pack here and there and its yours.....

or second thought, who needs preamps.....gimme a beer......

ROFL!!!!:D :D :D

For MY money............

.....there's actually a neat one with built in monitoring, single channel only though and easy to obtain!

It's called the Telephone;)

Bells are nice as are Western Electric....the black older ones are fatter sounding by far. My only advice is go for the analog ones with the coiled cords....the newer digital versions suck and are usually wireless.......ya know?

PS The Mr. Microphone is OK but it's kind of vintage and with vintage being all the rage it might creep up pricewise past your budget. If you can get one cheap without kidspit clogging it up, I suppose it might be worth it for the built in effects.....I'm just not sure the reverb is very true sounding....to each his own, I guess.

Yo Double QQ:

Just saw an old Rudy Valley hand held, technological wonder, megaphone -- as a pre amp, it is under the price you specified.

"Sounds great for a nasal singer."

Green Hornet:p :p :p :D

Amen on the beer part!!

I think those telephone preamps are overrated. If you can afford a bit extra, you can get a tube telephone for about $32.75. Trust me, the extra few bucks are worth it....

In the under 10 catagory, I would recomend getting a nice dinner, and then just singing really loudly at you're computer/tape machine. Its always worked pretty well for me. Plus then you only have to worry about positioning yourself...
