What's the best Hardware recording machine?

HEY GUYS
i am looking for a digital hardware recording machine that can transfer data directly to Cubase
so i can recording the sound then transfer each "channels" to Cubase, then i can edit on Cubase

Any one knows any hardware machine that work with Cubase?>

Alesis makes a recorder called an HD24. Could track on it, then get the tracks to PC for editing in Cubase. I'd check out the Alesis forum here and do a search on it. There are other options as well, but I know someone who uses the HD24 and said it works well for him. I HAVEN'T seen it in action thought so this is "hearsay".
