damn, whats mixing down?how do i do it?
I have computer programs to do it. No clue how to do it, last time i tried, the tracks were missing and stuff.

The process of mixing down involves taking several tracks and combining them into one track (either mon or stereo)....If done in software, its usually just a click and save type process.....what software are you using?....

Not sure about Cubase, but I use N-Track...Once you have all your tracks recorded, effects where you want them, volume and panning adjusted, edits, etc, just click file - mixdown song -start...it will then create the stereo file.....

anything particularly special about mixing down? or is it the same just mixed down?

Like Gidge said, you'll end up with a stereo file of the song. So, yes, it'll sound the same after you mix it down, but once it's mixed down you can edit the song as a whole (ie add compression, adjust eq, etc. to the whole mix). Also, you can make mp3s, cds, whatever, of your song(s).

Anything special about it mixed down?...well you cant put a song on a CD with a multitrack file....you have to get it to a mono or stereo file at some point.....
