So looking through the couple pages of this section of the forum, I have yet to see anything about what all of us guitar/bass players have in the our rigs.

So there you go: What cha got!

The reason behind this is I just rreally started playing full on again after going through a 4 month mental block. The other day I started looking into new gear and played around with a Laney Linebacker 100R that i bought awhile back and it sounded beautiful, mostly due to the fact that i never really eq'd anything.

so here's what I use

Guitars:
Fender 60's strat
Epi g100 (obviously looking to upgrade :D)

Amps:
Laney lineback 100L half stack
Fender princeton chours

Effects:
boss phaser
boss ds-1
boss ME-50
EH Metal Muff

not that glorious but i hope to get more from everyone else!!

Electric Guitars:
G&L Legacy HB
Gibson LP Studio in wine red
Ibanez RG760 (collects dust)

Amps:
Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb
Roland Cube 30 (use this most of the time because the Fender is so heavy...and the congregation can't tell the difference).

Effects on my board right now:
Dunlop Wah
Boss TU-2
Maxon OD-9
ProCo Rat II
Boss DD-5 with homemade tap tempo
Line6 DL4
Volume Control

Electrics I actually use:
Heritage H-555 with Fralin P-92s
G&L ASAT Jr.
'51 Vega E-300

Amps:
'65 Gibson Explorer
'64 Ampeg M-15

No Effects

Gits & Gats

The most imporant thing in my arsenal is my 9mm, so I can bust a cap in any fool's azz who dares play hotter links than me!

As for musical equipment:

Gits:

Epiphone Airscreamer with clear bobbin pickups, amber LED meters mounted in side marker lights, built-in switchable balanced DI/instrument output (mods in progress!)

Fender So-Cal featuring Brian Wilson Presents Smile sticker and handwound pickup. I mean literally handwound, not just scatterwound. Scheduled mods: chickenhead knob painted like an actual chicken's head, and tremolo.

Epiphone Viola with custom set of strings tuned C-G-D-A. No other mods, as it's already pretty much perfect.

Amp:

Peavey Extreme RAGE! with 12AX7 preamp stage, Eminence 8" driver, spring reverb, and burgundy carpet finish. This isn't working at the moment, haven't had time to fix it, but I'll probably just gut it and start over, as I have a brand new conception of what an amp should be. This will probably use power MOSFETs for all stages configured like class A tubes (complete with 140VDC supply), also with input transformers.

Sweet-- I'm really into guitar right now. I have a small, but growing collection. These are the keepers:

Electrics:
'05 Gibson SG Standard with Lindy Fralin PAF's
'94 US Hamer Studio with Joe Barden HB's
'93 US G&L Legacy
Michael Kelly Hourglass with Rio Grande P-90's

Amps:
Orange Tiny Terror with the Jule Amps mod
Randall RM50 with Brahma module (more modules coming-- just bought this amp)
Ear Candy open back 1x12 with a Hellatone 60; Avatar closed back 1x12 with a WGS Green Beret

Shit, who cares?

Concentrate on the music - that's what it's all about!

Isn't it?

No, it's about the amber LEDs that flash as you play :p

It's more important to look good than feel good! ;)

  • Tele (Nashville Power Tele)
  • Strat
  • 1968 EKO acoustic/electric

Amp:
  • Fender Princeton Chorus

Effects:
  • ART SGX2000
  • Fulltone Fulldrive II
  • MXR Super Comp
  • Ernie Ball VP-Jr Volume Pedal

Other:
  • Steely Dan songbook

no where did i say what do you use to make yourself not sound like a noob.

every guitar player has a rig and it's always good just to see what someone else uses if you're looking for the samething. no bitchassness intended brah

Simple and cheap, sounds good enuf for my purposes:

Guitars:

Jackson Dinky rev (E, red/orange)
Jackson Dinky rev (drop D, blue)
Vantage generic POS (Eb, black)
Alvarez SD70C electric/acoustic
Washburn 5-string bass

FX: Pod XT live and a Dimebag crybaby

Amp: Crate 2x12 combo, I run the pod into it so it's used purely as a power amp.

Modest setup:
1965 Marshall Stack
1957 Fender Strat
1958 Les Paul Standard
1962 Les Paul SG
1959 ES175
1965 Epiphone Casino
1958 Fender Amp

a couple of pedels and an original Fender chord and strap.

Agile AL-3100 Sunburst
OR
SX Strat w/Bridge HB and mirrored pickguard

INTO

Peavey Ultra 112 Combo

with Zoom G1 for some mod effects, volume pedal, expression pedal for some whammy effects.

But when it gets right down to it, i usually dont bring any pedals to practice or a real gig. My volume pots are really all I need.

Gets me by in a punk rock 4-piece.

Really simple and really easy.

GUITARS
-Cheap SG copy for the humbucker tone
-Cheap Tele copy for the single coil sound
-Takamine G-series acoustic (one of the best bangs for the buck I have found)

AMP
-Vox Valvetronix
-Boss Overdrive pedal

Thats it. Cheap and gets the job done everytime.

Geez man--that's a bunch of old stuff. Too bad you can't afford anything new...

:D

I've got a few guitars but the main ones I use are my Carvin DC400 custom, an Epi LP that I repaired the broken neck on, and a cheapo Rogue strat that I went thru pretty much everything.

I've got an old Crate 1X12 that I use once in awhile but my main cab is one I built and put 2 V30's in run by my '69 Sunn 200S tube head. It ain't purdy but it cranks...:D

I got a bunch of geetars and a couple of amps. I rotate through all of 'em 'cause I don't want any of 'em to get lonely or jealous. :D
