Ok so the other day I decided to try my own bum-rig home recording studio. So I got all my equipment together and eventually came up with a working set up. I basically just took my PA and took a chord from the "Tape Out" jack, plugged it into a 1/4th to 1/8th converter, and plugged it into my mic jack on my computer. Now things went pretty well for the first day of recording, but when I woke up the next morning to record some guitar tracks, it turns out that it now clips the audio at 1/2 of its original sound level. What do you think happened? I have the slightest feeling I just vucked up my soundcard.

Any ideas?

doctor... doctor.... it hurts when i do that.....

well dont do that....

Well you shouldn"t be useign the Mic jack on your PC because that is for Low level signals Like Mics...You should use the "Line In" jack because the output from the PA is at Line level....You will clip the Mic inputs a lot easier than the Line inputs....

Cheers
