DMP3.

You get two very good pres for stereo guitar, overheads, etc.

And, if you are a haggler like me, you can get it for $120 at Guitar Center--if they have any left.

I agree

I just got a DMP-3 for $129.99 at Guitar center.
It doesn't quite have the depth and headroom as my RNP, but is very clean and clear. Sounds really good on vocals and Acoustic sources.
Best bang for buck at your price range.

A good used 8 could be had for that price, I got my Yamaha MLA7 used at $200. And Id do the pepsi challenge with any other preamp under a grand.

I've had good luck with my DMP3. I also use a Blue Tube, but prefer the DMP3 overall.

Studio Projects VTB-1 is somewhat quieter than the DMP3 at/near full gain. Relatively better sound on dynamic microphones too.

I think it's still $129 at www.bpmmusic.com

Chris

That MLA7 is not bad at all, I used to have one. A good choice if you need 8 preamps on a real budget.

I'm not sure how it holds up to a DMP3 or VTB-1, but another dual preamp to add to the list would be the Presonus Blue Tube.

thanx for the help.

I got the "Tube-Pre", the guy at the store said it was better than the DMP3..so whats ya'lls opinion i could take it back i have a 30 day..refund..thingie..

5 out of 7 of us recommended the DMP3. What part of that math do you not understand?

I hope you enjoy your "Toob Pre.":D

) : I went to Guitar Center trying to get your guys' $120 deal on the DMP-3 that you all have gotten and i got all the way to the fuckin manager and he said "the lowest I can go is $130.14. That's what we pay" Fuckas. did you guys get it for this price out the door? I'm really worried that i'm losing my touch

T

Yo ado- $130.14 isn't bad. You've ground their balls enough. Just buy it. And the guy who said the toob pre is better than a DMP3- find anothr salesman. He's either clueless, or he's lying to you.-Richie

They are SOOo full of shit. I got mine for $99. Same whining from the manager. But, I pointed out that the thing survived 3 full blown sales and I have CASH. It talks.

so he was lying for me..

but the dmp3 was a 2 channel pre-amp..any good single ones?...

i could always return it

99???! shittt i'll give you 5 bucks if you photo copy your receipt and mail it to me

T

Yo Micflo!- Single channel cheap- Audiobuddy ($80 or so). Better- Studio Projects VTB-1 (about $130)-Richie
P.S.-$99- go boy!

Some of the GCs have the DMP3 marked as closeout in their registers. These are the stores that you get the best deal. Others still have it listed as regular inventory, these are the ones that will be reluctant to deal.
