What Would Be Best For Me?...

I"m a recording engineer that raps often. So i want to know what would give me the best quality. A USB 2.0 interface (M audio mobile pre) or a Firewire interface (M audio firewire solo)...i have 2gb ram and 200 hd and dual core 64 processors...so speed isn't a problem...

Please give me a reason WHY instead of just sayin what you own...thanks...

Well,
The manufacturers of audio/midi interfaces tend to build their better ones for Firewire; some don't even build USB interfaces.
M-Audio makes some pretty good gear. As a matter of fact I own some of their gear and have had very few complaints if any.
As far as these two pieces of equipment go:
Inputs/Outputs:
FW Solo 6x4
USB 2x2

The FW can work at 24bit/96kHz the USB at 16bit/48kHz

FW has S/PDIF digital I/O, USB doesn't.

None of them have Midi I/O.

USB has 2 preamps, FW only 1.

The FW is $70 more expensive (MSRP), but in my opinion, that would be the one to choose between these two.

Yea...i'll go for the FW...i'm not to worried about inputs because i'll just be using one mic anyway...thanks...
