I just got your Joemeek mq3, and it seems like a great unit so far. I just have one beef so far: why is there no way to rack mount this thing? It's such a pain to have to find space on my already over-crowded desk for this unit just because you guys didn't want to put a couple holes so that people could bolt it to a rack. What motivated your decision to do this?

SKB and Anvil have formed an evil rack consortium. They are actually paying equipment mfgs to not put rack ears on devices so that people are forced to pay $80 for a generic rack shelf.

I hear ya bro. All these cutesy, retro non rack devices are getting annoying. They could at least make cute, little, retro racks to hold all the stuff.

Unless you could fit the face plate rack of RNC's onto the JoeMeek
than your prob is solved!

The VC3 came with (or had an optional, I don't remember) rack kit. I have mine racked I know.

That should fit the MQ3 right? Is it still available??

Ohh, I didn't know about the rack kit. It isn't metioned in the product's documentation. I'll have to look into that...

Thanks!

samash.com has a 15 dollar Universal Rack Shelf. Could you use that?

Well I hear what you are saying, but remember, I don't design the Joemeek stuff. The Brits do that, I just distribute them. No offense to the Brits, but I have been screaming all along to include the rack kit, but do they listen to me....Noooooo

As for a tray, that's fine, but use Velcro. I can't tell you how many units I have fixed...(all under the warranty) where some idiot drilled a hole in the bottom of the Meek to screw it into a tray. DON'T DO IT!

The pc board is right at the bottom so if you drill it, you will drill into the board, and I have to spend 45 minutes fixing the thing jumping traces. Now, my policy is I fix the shit for free, but I don't need people adding to my repair time.

We sell a rack kit...its L shaped rack ears that center the MQ3 so it racks in a single space. Its $25.00. You can order it from me, or order it from a dealer...your call. :D

No, like I mentioned before, the MQ3 has no holes to put a bolt into.

That's good. I'm going to have to get a new rack with a few more spaces if I want to take advantage of that. I was only planning on it taking up half a rack space. :) Thanks for getting back to me.
