What to do for a "low-end" drum room?

I have a small room in my basement that I'd like to turn into a soundproof area for my drums. Rough measurements are 6' x 13' and maybe 8' tall.

The Auralex soundproofing material would be perfect, but it is terribly expensive, especially if I wanted to do the whole room. I wouldn't have a problem buying $100 worth (that's 32 square feet, I think), but I don't know if that would work, because it wouldn't cover the whole room.

I am no architect, and I have zero experience with recording or anything along those lines. Where should I start for an inexpensive way to make a soundproof drum room?

If by soundproof you mean not having your drumming be able to be heard upstairs then it boils down to this.

1. Auralex foam, or anybody's foam, will get you nothing. Neither will fiberglass absorbers.

2. There is no cheap solution.

Let me clarify what I mean. The basement is made out of limestone, I think. Or some sort of stone. Anywho, I'm not worried about sound getting upstairs. What I am worried about is making a room that won't allow the vocal microphones (which will just be in the next room) to bleed the drums very much. Furthermore, I want the room to allow the drum mics to get decent quality sound from the drums.

Maybe there's some sort of solution for what I'm looking for?
