I am totally new to recording music. I want to be able to record my guitar and bass into one song on my computer. I have no idea what to buy or how to proceed at all. I do have a computer that is a Pentium 2.26GHz with 120MB RAM and a Sound Blaster Audigy sound card. I also have an electric guitar, bass guitar and amp of course. What I need is a list of required equipment. I have been very impressed with all the responses to us newbies and it seems to be a great community here.
Can I just purchase a digital recording device (ie 8track) to record each individual track and then put a song together on my computer with software?? I am looking for the easiest method that doesn't have to sound outstanding. I have about 400-1000 bucks
