Im currently using the trial version of ACID Pro 7

Just want to know which software program is suited best for making hip hop beats

If you are not considering vocals until later Reason is a good selection. They will come out with Record in Sept and you will be able to record vocals then. A lot of hip hoppers are also using Fruity Loops and Reaper. Both are considerably easy to use and cheap. Hope this helps!

+1 Yeah I would recommend fruity loops if your just a beginner, once familiar with making beats and become novice than I would approach Reason, where you can make some extreme Instrumentals! Good Luck:cool:

Well I know most use FL or Reason but id like to throw out another option called Native Instruments Maschine. Its still relatively new so it has some bugs that need to be worked out but overall a good buy. Interface is ALOT easier than Reason and along the lines of FL. The big step for me to purchase this was it comes with hardware!! Basically a MPC style controller. I was looking to buy a MPC but when I found this product, loading samples and instruments was way easier than with a MPC and its software, so expanding is a breeze. It is around the same price range as all the other software on the market so I think if your serious about it, you should consider checking it out.

You can go on about FL and Reason forever. It really just depends on how well you adapt to either one.

I'm a Reason user. That's what I learned on. Took me about 6 months to really fine tune beats but now 7 years into it, I make BEATS.

I tried FL and wasn't feelin it even though a lot of folks do cause they say there's not as big of a learning curve. Not that FL isn't good because it's good too...I've heard some SICK beats made of FL...I just can't do it as well.

Now as far as Maschine...I'm gonna have to research that one and peep it out.

What you have to think about when going through is what can you afford to buy and UPDATE. Cause just because you have the software doesn't mean it stops there. Are you going to limit yourself to only the default sounds that the software offers? I would hope not. Even if you know how to tweak a default sound and make it sound better, it still limits you on what you could be getting access to.

Then once you get into it, if you don't feel like you're making good progress on learning how to use it, then you either need to seek help or look and see what may fit better for you. If you don't feel comfortable in your own element then how are you gonna make heat?

Fiev.

i def wouldn't suggest reason unless you willing to LEARNNNN a FUCKLOAD.

to be efficient enough on Reason to utilize all the ins and outs takes mad long. PLEASE don't misunderstand cuz reason is maybe the most used beat maker in the industry

it had the capability to create nearly ne sound, at ne drum beat, with ne midi device.

on the other had i have been using my recording software logic. you can mix each track of the beat and vox all together.

Exactly what i do.

Go for Fruity Loops and get good at that. Some of the same techniques still apply, but Reason is WAYYYYY more advanced.
