I am looking for software that will let me record real instruments as well as hook up a midi controller and get some piano/strings/other close to real sounding instruments. I am looking in the sub-$300 price range, but would consider higher priced software if I really like it.
So far, I have only tried two types of software. I had garageband on my old mac and liked it pretty well. Then for my current PC, I downloaded the n-track demo and found it somewhat confusing and busy.
As of now i have a pc, microphones, an art tps II preamp, a m-audio delta 66, and krk rokit rp6 monitors.
What software suggestions do you all have for me?
