If anybody could give me advice on this topic I would greatly appreciate it. I'm making the move from a Boss
BR-8 recorder to computer based recording setup. Now I'm having some problems on hardware/software I
should get to make my setup complete. Here are some questions I've been asking myself for 3 months now.
Should I get a Motu 828 or a Motu 896?
If I do get a Motu 896, will my computer be able to handle it?
Should I get Emagic Logic, Cubase or Cubase VST/32?
If I do get Cubase and I decide to upgrade to Cubase SX will my Motu 828 or 896 work in Mac OS X?
Plus I'm am trying to figure out if my computer will handle sound recording. Here is the info on my computer.
Power Mac G4 466Mhz
1.25GB of RAM
One 30GD IDE Hard Drive with OS 9.2.2 Installed
One 6GD IDE Hard Drive with OS X Installed
I'm looking to record a four piece band all at once. Will this be possible? Do I need to upgrade something?
