yes, I just purchased a triton sound module. My question is should I hook it up to my xp-80 with my mo phatt and emu 2500 connected to my akai 3000 running or should I buy a midi controller keyboard to control the modules

Boy. You sure got alot of expensive shit for not knowing how to hook it up. Don't worry though, I'm only a couple of pages ahead of you. But I do know that your best bet is a midi interface. I use a motu midi express xt, and it works really well. It will allow you to use the xp80 to control any combination of your modules simultaneously or vica versa.

Well, it only has 1 i/o right? That means you'd have to chain all those devices and that can be a real mindfuck. With the midi express xt for example, you plug each in and out (midi) into the midi interface and you have instant access to any device from any device. Believe me, it's alot easier too! For example, working in cubase as a sequencer, with only 1 midi out on your card, your only gonna be able to assign output to 1 instrument. With an interface you can have up to eight instruments firing up on separate tracks all at once. It's the way to go, and it won't be nearly as confusing. I was asking the same question before I got my interface. Not to mention your brain will chase itself in circles when it comes to daisy chaining midi.
Check it out.
