My question is what should I buy. recently I have been doing alot of production. I have and mpc4000, trition, motif, roland xp-80 mophatt, and five emu racks and a delta 1010 sound card and a mac g4. I have been do good business lately which have allowed me to save about 10,000-15,000 to invest in equipment. Since I have been doing alot of business everyone want the data in protools. I was considering the digi002 but I heard that its not really all digi makes it out to be. So i was looking into get a higher end protools setup. I was going to a studio which charges $60 an hour and he has the protool 24 with a Yamaha 02Rv2 console and he has a avalon half rack preamp. Ok I have aquired an office space to start building my studio, but my question is what would be a good setup in the $10,000-15,000 price range. If iam interested in the protools 24 setup what all would be needed to get good quality recordings

Are you talking about the Control|24? http://digidesign.com/products/control/control24/

It's a control surface with 16 Focusrite Class A mic/line preamps.
Then you would need a system. If you want to do it go Pro Tools HD http://digidesign.com/products/hd/ The diffrent versions just have more or less plug-in's I think. If you wan't more then 16 channels look into the digi "PRE" I'm not sure what all you would need. Check their site out. The HD systems start at around 8,000 I think then the Control24 is around another 7,000 I think. So look into spending that money!

Okay so If I use protools do I have to use a protools control surface. I have been to numerous studios with the high end protools system and I have never seen a protools controll surface. SO how would I know if its is compatible with other mixers. Can someone just lead me in the right direction with this new purchase.
