im looking to rap at home with my own computer all i have right now is a mic and my lyrics in a notebook but i want to make my own beats and put my lyrics and beats together what programs do i need to make this happen and creat my own songs someone told me fl studio to make the beats but i want more opionions

To create loops by midi sounds and on board use, look into Fruity Loops and Reason. If your wanting to record, check out Cubase, Audicity etc.

Reaper is only about $40, and has just as much features as most popular recording programs...both MIDI and audio recording for beats and vocals.

But I would also look into FL Studio as that seems to be the most popular for what you're doing. I would say Reason might be better but it is also much more expensive.

well money is no issue being i can get any program over the internet for free but i guess im going to go with fl studio being my friend has it and maybe he can show me some stuff

Don't steal your software son. Just chip the $40 dollars out and grab Reaper. Upgrade later. No one here likes to mention illegal wares of programs. Plus do you really want all the bugs that are added on by some hacker that lets you use the program for free?

Anyways, FL is pretty easy, and it'll be nice for you to start with, to make beats. And Reaper will be decent enough to do anything else you want to do.
