I'm 15, play several instruments, from piano to violyn, guitar, bass, drums. i've been recording since late summer, i've used CubasisVST, and now Ntrack. NTRACK IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT. I have a few problems though. I just wanted to kn ow how to make my songs sound a bit more clear or on beat. I play with the beat of ntrack, but it almost seems as if there is delaying times between the guitars, or drums to the recorder. Also, how do i use midi?? i have a keyboard, have no clue what to do. Hmmm, is there a way i can straight out record a track and then ajust the volume of different parts of the track?? hey also if there are any nice programs anyone would recommend to me i can download for free offa the internet or get cracks to, that would be great. They could be fore effects, or equalization, deleting extra noises, anything. Thanx for your help. I'm musicsdarkangel@yahoo.com and musicsdarkangel on aol instant messenger. If you need tips on instruments or need good bands, i'm the guy to talk to heh.

Ok...that was quite the question :)

You want to know how to make your songs more "on the beat"? I'm not sure what you mean, but you might be having a lag problem. That is, the audio being recorded is out of sync with the audio you're hearing. You need to specify your soundcard and computer specs and maybe we can help.

As far as adjusting the levels of part of a track....yes, this is easy and is done by drawing a "volume envelope" on the track. Click on the toolbar button that looks like a ramp and select "show volume envelopes". You'll see a line through the center of each track. You shape this line using the mouse to reflect the changes in volume you'd like.

On to "free programs"...you'll have to figure out how to steal software on your own, but I can point you at a ton of truely free plugins (it sounds like you're looking for plugins)... here's a list I made some time ago of free plugins:

Someone else will have to help you with the whole MIDI thing.

You should also do some browsing of this forum. Many if not all of your questions have been answered if you have the time to dig.

Good luck!
