What Microphone should I buy for Pop song vocals?

Hey I am looking to do covers for certain artists/bands such as Bruno mars, Cold Play, Justin Bieber, and David Guetta, I have about £50-£60 to spare, which is about $80-$95, I am 16 and I cant go over that limit, it should fit in the Phantom power, and anything else I need, but that's not necessarily part of it since i can always borrow that form a friend, Can you guys give me some advice on what microphone to buy, what phantom i could buy and how do I record what Im singing. I have been on numerous forums with not much help coming from them, so can you please give me some advice.

As for the microphones, with your budget, it doesn't really matter what condenser mic you choose, as they mostly sound the same.
 
could i use a USB for vocals and have the same quality?
 
It wouldn't exactly be the same quality, no. But the quality of USB have been great.

Check out some videos and decide for yourself the quality of the mic.
 
Is this for recording or live use?

If you are planning on using it for live vocals in a (covers) band, then a USB mic won't be suitable, and most budget condensers are prone to feedback. A dynamic would then be the way to go, and a Shure SM58* would fit the bill if slightly more than your budget. Or the AKG D5 is not awful - it's quite a bit brighter than a 58 and a bit cheaper. Depends on your budget really.

Recording is a different thing.

PS. Don't buy cheap SM58s on ebay - there are fakes floating around so buy from a reputable dealer.

at that price I would just go with a usb mic and play around with it :) See if this is something you reallyyyy want to get into! And you don't normally buy a separate phantom power supply...that usually just gets sent through whatever you have the mic plugged into (mixer or audio interface). But if you get a usb mic, then all you'll need is the mic itself ;)
 
Something like an AKG Perception 120 may be a good option within your budget. Don't forget you will also need a mic stand and a pop filter.
 
I think the most important question was this recording or live use. That will have a significant impact on the opinions.
