That's an RCA U47 valve ribbon condensing dynamic microphone. Those don't come cheap these days, since most of them were destroyed in the Manhattan Transfer Project.

DOn't know muhc about mics but for the shape it looks like a large condenser studio microphone. The mic techies here are right, it might be an AKG. Warning, these emcis aren't cheap, I recently surfed the web and I found an studio AKG similar to the video for 2500 bucks!!!

Actually it's a Mannlicher-Carcano bolt action. You can see a better pic of the mic in this pic, but you have to look at it carefully.

Apparently you can get off 3 successive raps in 8.6 seconds, but that's highly speculative. The third rap will always be the best.
