I'm in a small band and we are multitracking through a Tascam porta 2 (It's all we could afford). We are poor students and need a cheap cassette deck to mixdown to, What recomendations does anyone have

Thanks

Your choices are many!. there are many electronic stores that sell budget cassette
decks ranging from US$60.00 to US$300.00.
But if your budget is limited, and without
knowing your price range, have you considered
trading in your Porta 2 for a Fostex X-14?
Its a 4-Trak cassette recorder that has a
built in mike and a preamp and goes for 'round US$159.00 or if you increase your
budget to around $250.00US you can upgrade to
a Tascam 414 MK11. but whatever the case,you
can find great deals at www.zzounds.com/a--2676837 or try www.jandr.com. J&R music world always carries great deals on budget cassette decks
where i bought a Teac dual cassette deck for
US$70.00. Good luck.

Hey Raw!

I just bought a Yamaha K60 Natural sound dual cassette deck from a guy on E-bay for $24.01!!! It cost $34.00 after shipping but it sounds pretty darn good. Check out E-bay

I wouldn't buy a used cassette deck! Save a few more dollars and get a single deck with Dolby HX pro noise reduction. Don't scrimp on mixdowns, it's the final product that will suffer!

Try Wallmart, Best Buy, Circuit city etc. I bet you can find a pretty good Sony, or JVC deck for under $100.00

Sincerely;
