Hi,
I live in small travel trailer and I can't have speakers and because I use my generator for AC I bought the Bose ComfortII noise cancelling. They have very natural sound. Someone said I should have flat response type. What is this?

when they say "flat response", they are probably refering to EQ response.

In other words, it would seem natural to assume that if you have headphones/monitors with the flattest possible EQ response possible (look in the headphone manual for this information), your mixes would translate well on a majority of systems.

Of course there's alot more to the equation than just flat eq response, but thats generally what they are refering to.

I use beyer DT 100s myself

& there are people on this forum far more qualified than me to explain in every uneiversaly applicable detail "flat response"

Be careful with HP they are very bad on the ears.

especially if you forget to pay the HP & the music store send their "men in suits" after bashing your ears in

I'll set my pet haggis on them

They're as bad as speakers.
With both, loud is loud.
Whether you use headphones or speakers, if you listen too loud, you WILL impair your hearing.

Still, I like my music really loud...
