what kind of cable???

I want to run my aux sends to the aux in on my headphone amp so that i can create seperate mixes.

I've tried numerous different cables and all give me this bad hiss, and it does the same in all 8 aux sends. What cable should I be using?

The mixer is a Behringer MX3282

The headphone amp is a Behringer HA4700



two behringer pieces... DAMN! I swear these are the only two in my studio

Aux sends outs are unbalanced, so they are more likely to pick-up static (hiss).
If I'm guessing correctly you are going to need those headphones quite far from the mixer.
Unbalanced cables are for short connections. If you need a large cable, you might wanna consider a Direct Box. To turn your unbalanced signal into balanced, and then you can take it to your mixer through a regular XLR cable.

Aux sends are certainly not "unbalanced" by nature. Every console I have uses balanced aux sends except for maybe one of the little 2 channel yamaha consoles kicking around at the shop. I have a feeling though that even they have balanced aux sends. Over the years though, here is what I have noticed. A lot of console manufacturers seem to put lower cost parts in the path of the aux busses to save money. From cheaper pots and myabe even caps and switches to a different summing buss scheme. The end result is that the aux sends will often have more noise, especially hiss, than the master outputs. Having owned that Behringer headphone amp mentioned above, I can also tell you that the inputs on it are also very noisy, especially when using the aux in on the fornt side. Combine all this with the fact that the console is also a Behringer, which already greatly increases the noise floor, and the fact that you have a lot of hiss does not surprise me. Have you tried sending a good hot signal at the same time? Maybe the hiss is there, but the signal is so much louder that you will be turning things down enough that the hiss is not much of an issue.
