there's discrepancies between the link in my first post and link provided by Stephen...can you tell me where you found that link stephen?????

for instance, in link I provided it says upgradeable to 2gb of ram, in the link you provided it says only 1gb...

also, there is that missing slot that is not pictured or shown in the diagram...mine has one big slot labeled "J30 EXT" not those 3 little slots below the pci slots pictured.

pacman9000 ,

I did a google search using your model number , and I guess , I musta FUCKED up OK. ;-)

here's what hp has listed :

Expansion Slots

* One (1) PCI slot with modem installed
* One (1) 4X AGP slot open for expansion
* Two (2) PCI slots open for expansion
Sorry Man . . . I'm not Psychic . . . I'm Fuckin' Psychotic lol

pacman9000 , I was trying to help . . . I'll mind my business from now on

haha

NO MAN, i don't want you to mind your own business...a link like that first one IS just what I need...that motherboard was very similar to mine, but different in a few ways...I want to find a diagram/picture of my motherboard just like that one that you provided which doesn't quite match...

so, all I really need from you, is to tell me HOW you found that first link you provided me with...I found the other information that you just found as well, but the specifications are not detailed...and there's no picture or diagram of the Motherboard...

thanks for your help! regardless if I find it or not

Your mom goes to college!

pacman9000 ,

As I recall , I was able to search the HP site for the motherboard model number and maker. Then I googled that info , until I came up with what I posted on here. I have tried to repeat this today, and , of course I can't get there from here.
HP is being tight-lipped about what motherboard model was used. I usually use Google, and then I use the " Search within results " feature, which usually results in a deeper search.

Today i found this :

http://www.ambry.com/page/search.asp?partnumber=287938-004&searchedall=Y

There just isn't much info on this board , Sorry.

Thank you my friend, this is also helpful!

I thought there wasn't much info on this board cos I went to HP live chat and the rep kept stalling and stalling and wasted my time, she couldn't find any info either...and I've done lots of searching myself but I probably am not the most adept at using search engines...atleast now I know that there actually is not much info on this motherboard...oh well, that makes me think that perhaps it is a solid computer after all, as most good products fade away and become obsolete with little info on them because of the huge breadth of ignorance created by capitalism spanning across the entire country.
