What is the difference?

I am wondering what the difference is between a large diaphragm condenser and a small diaphragm condenser..

I have a Rode NT3 but don't really like the sound. I am going to get a different mic but need to learn the difference first..

The size of the diaphragm first off is different, and from that the accuracy gets better with small diaphragms. Do a search for Harvey Gerst and youll find a page that like "how diaphragms size relate to polar pattern? or something like that, its a good primer on microphones. If you can't find it, here is another way to get it.
