what is the differance between a control surface and a interface

i think that control surfaces tend to have more capabilities .. right?

Control Surface has knobs and stuff usually are run by MIDI and allow you to control a software program of some sort.

Interface usually provides a way to route audio into a device such as a cpu...

Some control surfaces also provide an audio interface but they are differant...
