Not sure about the pod thing. Is this thing any good?
Is there something better out there that I don't know aobut?

The POD is not really an effects box. It has some OK effects.... but its real use is as a direct recording device so you can get a good guitar sound without having to mic a loud amp and fiddle with the mic position, etc. If you want excellent effects, look elsewhere.

what kind of effects are you referring too?

Delays, Flang, Chorus, so on...

i own a POD and i find it very useful in the studio. i have not tried it in a live setting.

if you're recording, the POD does a pretty good job with differing AMP/Cabinet combinations. i own a Marshall JCM-800 and several Fenders. the POD does a very realistic job of emulating these amps and a lot of different tones can be had from this box.

the POD effects are bread-and-butter Delay, Flang, Chorus, Compression and Reverb. they all sound good.

heya!

I just got a Boss Gt-3, I like it cause the efects are great and I can get some great sounds, GREAT!!!
I hate digitech stuff, I find there distortions graaaaanyyyy!
Just go try lots of stuff at stores and have fun with em.
I like anything that can make the guitar sound nuts!
