what software are you using?
double tracking definately a great option, but it does suit some singers better than others.

Better than "good" and gooder than "better"?

Okay then, define "best" as it relates to chorus effects. What exactly makes one chorus "better" than all the others?

Well, in my personal opinion, I never like the sound of a chorus "effect" on a vocal track. So, the only "chorusing" I do like on a vocal is the chorusing caused by the same voice doubled with itself.

Hmmmm.....I had no idea there was going to be a test half-way through the thread. :D

There is no wrong answer, just lots of different opinions. I'm with RAMI. I prefer doubling most of the time.

But sometimes a chorus effect is called for. You just have to try a bunch and decide which one you like on whatever you happen to be mixing at the time. You could have a hundred people all recommending the same plugin and find that it sounds like crap to you on your project. I'd just grab whatever effect I have laying around an try it. If it doesn't do the trick I try another one.

I think, The best Chorous effect vst plugin used in vocal recordings. USB X-treme Fx is a sound library dedicated to sound effects, Foleys and atmospheric sounds. For sound designers it means having a brand new sound bank. It needs 8GB of free disk space. You can use it.
