Hello to everyone in the world of computer recording.
I'm new to this forum. I'll get straight to the poin. The reason for the question what is mastering exactly is because when i'm through recording a song and i start editing the track with noise reduction or equalizer phase and so on with other effects it sounds good on the studio monitors. I use cool edit pro 2.1 and adobe which as taken over cool edit. I want to know what else can i use to to get it sounding better for radio play. I do alot of ready and the last thing i saw was that after u take ou the tweeks and ticks ur done. They said everyone is into (everyone is Major recording studios) loud recording cd's. The engineer continued by saying that by making the cd's loud u lose the dynamic range of the music. Is that correct? if so what is considered to be good mastering techniques.
