i got a ROLAND GI-20 guitar midi interface somedays before. The Manual told me that i can control different MIDI massages which can be assigned to external controllers. i can use expression pedal to control CC#1-31,64-95,Pitch bend, vibrato, but i don't understand what the 'CC#' is.

please tell me what "CC#" is . thanks first!!

CC stands for "continuous controller". A contiuous controller can generate a range of values to control a MIDI function like volume. An expression pedal is a continuous controller. A "switch controller" just generates on and off signals. A sustain pedal is an example of a switch controller.

As Erich said, your pedal can generate a range of values and you can use it to control the above messages as specified in the MIDI implementation chart that came with the GI-20.

It's worth mentioning that, with a few exceptions, those controllers are not standard. Check your MIDI implementation chart to see which CC's your device supports.

Thank you guys! Erich, Ted and lykwydchykyn. now i understood it clear. :o
