sorry for being so noobish, but i hear that this 703, can be used for sound proofing? what is it exactly i cant find out anywhere :(

It is a brand name for Owens Corning rigid fiberglass insulation, used for sound absorption. There are other manufacturers as well whose products have different names.

The previous post is exactly correct but here is a little more detail. it is densly compressed fiberglass. It is far more effective than sonex, aurelex or any of those types of foam treatemenst because it is more efficient and works over a wider range of the spectrum. It cost about 5-6 bucks for a 2foot by 4 foot sheet, but you will want to cover it with some kind of pourous fabric because its ugly and it sheds.

It is tough to find because it is only sold to commercial contractors (insulation contractors) so you need to get a contractor to find you some or find a distributor that sells to contractors.

They are both wrong. It's woven from the pubic hair of Himalayan virgins and imparts a magical quality to any sound that passes through it. Contact your local commercial insulation wholeseller. They don't care if you are a contractor or not but they may want you to buy more then you need.

I know this to be untrue!!!! There are no virgins in Himalaya. The pubic hair is actually harvested from Himilayan whores, and only rumored to come from virgins to keep the price high.

Occasionally you will also find some panels that have been contaminated with pubic hair from mongolian pimps. These are supposed to marked as seconds, but be very careful when purchasing.

It's true... I think I read it on Harvey's 'Big Thread'...

Learning is fun!!! :D
