I'm sure a few people in here have substancial investments in their studios & computer hardware. I've lost a couple of computer power supplies in the last week - fortunately the computers themselves and their data came through fine. All the PCs I had were on what I would call "decent quality consumer level surge suppressors". As a result of recent events I'm upgrading to some better quality units. BUT....
... I'm suspcious that my problems may actually be due to power dips, i.e. brownouts. Even fairly decent consumer APC units with batteries don't do real line filtering - that is, boosting the power level when needed if the power levels dip. I'm just wondering if anyone here are using such units, and if so which units you are using.
Cheers!
