Hey Guys I need A BIIIIG Favor from any of you making this kind of music...

I am making this kind of music on my computer with software for about 3 years but now i decided to do it more professionaly..and here comes a big problem with money and equipment.

If any of you can tell me what do i need to make it sound professional?
--keyboard? what kind is good under 500$
--studio monitors? i think i`ll get Alesis M1 Active Monitors (unless somebody can give me a better advice)
--soundcard? under $400
--and anything else i need that you guys can tell me i need...

THANK YOU GUYS VERY VERY MUCH!!

I'm a Techno guy too, well more into TechTrance and Psy Trance. You need to be more specific about your set up. Are you on PC or Mac, what type of software you use and other details like how many tracks you record, do you mix in software. Then tell us your full budget for everything. Hardware certainly won't make your sound better, if there isn't high quality AD/DA converters, Word Clock and quality cables in your set up. A Softsynth with high quality DA converter will sound better then a hardware synth with poor converters. As for Techno synths - I'd say the ultimate Techno machine would be Waldorf Microwave or Waldorf Pulse. Of course if you want antique stuff then Roland TB-303.

Cheers

i got a PC...now i am using programs like Fruityloops, Sound Forge and Cubase...but i was thinking to get a Digi 001 ...
What do you think i should get? thanks..

Like I said you have to be more specific. Do you do lots of MIDI recording how amny tracks you want to record at once? 001 doesn't have very good converters compared to even stuff like Motu 2408II or 1224 so some high end gear like Lucid, RME will be much much better. But that will cost you 1k-3k. Download as many demos as you can and try it out. Remember always pick the software first then the hardware.

techno=fruity loops and some samples! ha.

yeah..now THAT's my style

BTW, if you want some great analog synth simulations, try the latest reactor version!! You can sync it with Cubase without any latency problems and automize the knobs with midi controllers.

kiblonurek, you have to be more specific about what you want to record and what it is you exactely need.

hey..

what reactor version you takling about? i've never heard of it...can you give me some link so i could check it out? thanks

what i want to do...

I want to get a Access Virus keyboard and connect it to my computer wher i can record everything, sequence it and do mix and mastering...

I am still confused how do synthesizers work they use MIDI or what?I don`t know too much about midi, but i got Soundblaster Live and all this midi in it has a terrible sound...How other producers make techno? I never used any hardwear for music production...All i did was fruityloops and other softwear, now i want to make it sound more professional...

is that good explanation? =o)
