you record a miclevel signal into a BEAUTIFUL PRISTINE MAGNIFICENT Preamp, and then through a HORRIBLE CRAPPY DUMPY Preamp?

Say it goes Mic -> $12 Billion Amazing Preamp -> 10$ Shitty Preamp -> Computer

the reason I ask is because I am looking for an audio interface for my PC, I have a DAV BG-1 which has received a lot of good reviews and based on numbers alone it is basically 350$ perchannel (2Ch) but a lot of the PC audio interfaces Ive been looking at (want 8 1/4" channels, preferably with digital ins also) but they all have built in preamps...
----which equates to like 10-30$ per channel...

so once you preamp a given signal, what happens when you run it through a second, sub-par preamp?

is there any way to disable the pres when they are built into things?

Almost any interface worth looking at, if it even includes mic pre's are bypassable

you get a very expensive and EXTREMELY LOUD sound

don't run a signal through two preamps. Why would you amplify it twice?
Use the 1/4" inputs...they're for line level signal (which is what your preamp is putting out).
