I'll be there
I record in a small room 10/14 more or less. I've been hanging underpad, wall hangings etc.. and have bought some sonopan to make some panels (that green stuff get's everywhere, why do they dye it?) but I think the drywall cieling is the biggest problem. I've tried some local hardware stores looking for foam I can tack up there with not much luck. I did find some 3 step thin foam for under laminated floors, but I had no idea of it's composition (after reading the lead foam thread) so I didn't buy it. Is ther only resource for thin acoustic oriented foam the specialty shops and ordering on line? I was hoping to find something usable at the local hardware stores. Any ideas?

Thanks

Why not take some Owen's Corning 703, cover it in cloth, and hang it up there?

If I'm not mistaken, 703 is very much like the stuff A/C ducts are made of. I think it comes in 4x8 panels.

If not 703, you may be able to make due with rigid fiberglass insulation of another type.

I think I'm going to do just that with some kind of small panel. Just something over the vocal mic to soften it up a bit.

Thanks for the reply.
