what format do drum samples ive downloaded from the net have to be in in cubase studio4? cheeers to the pro who gives me a quick and probably SIMPLE response\! peace

I think you have multiple options if your going to drop the sample in an manually place it. see what the properties are on a file you know works.

Not a cubase user, but I doubt you can go wrong with a 16 bit 44K wave file.
That's your standard CD format sometimes called PCM also.
