What recording unit (portastdio, etc.) do you people use to record (drums)?

I am looking to buy something that can record 8 tracks simoultanously and I just wanna hear what youre using.

i'm using Cubase LE that came with my Firepod, it records 8 at a time but i've only used it for 4 at a time so far.

I think the P.C, is the best recording unit but mobile.....

I'm running my mics into my yamaha 01x. If i need more inputs than the 8 that gives me, I submix with the soundcraft spirit E12.

The yamaha 01x is then linked by mLan to my computer running Cubase SX2

firepod and cubase le

i've been using a firepod and the cubase LE software that comes with it. For 600$ I think it's a great deal compared to other items like itself (Digi 002). My cpu has 512mb of DDR Ram and is only 1.6ghz and i've had no problems using the firepod at all.

standalone
Fostex VF160 and ADA8000 16 tracks at a time.............

computer
Cbase - Emu 1212M - ADA8000 8 tracks at a time..............
