Does anybody know what gear and/or softwear the postal service uses to get the sounds that they do....if not them do you know what the band the faint uses...I want those kinds off sounds, there the only kind of synth sounds i like and i don't know who they get them?

Id check out an Korg electribe EA-1.
or the more expensive (and impossible to find) Roland MC-303.

And i believe i saw the faint use an MS-10, or MS-20.

But honestly,
You can get those sounds from almost any analog synth.

Id look at http://www.threechords.com/hammerhead
Then look at the TS-404. It gives you sounds "kinda like"
postal service. You just have to play with it.
(plus, is give you a good idea as to how to use analog synths.)

The use ability is quite limited, but its a start.

good luck.

I'm not sure of all the keyboards but they used three live, ben used a kord lead 2, and Jimmy used a microKorg through his powerbook, not sure what keyboard jenny used though

?

I guess those machines that sort the mail into different piles? Also transport gear like vans, planes, trains etc. Other than that I think most of it is done manually.

I was going to say Bell & Howell Mailstars but I see you discussing a band... Damn! I'm getting old!

thanks guys! Is the korg Korg electribe EA-1. and or the roland mc 303..are those just for beats or do they have other vocies on them...i am more familiar with the roland interface...but they don't look at that hard to use, do you prefer one over the other?
Also somebody mention ben used a Kord lead 2? Did you mean mean a korg lead 2 because i can t seem to find any info for that

haha yeah sorry nord lead 2x, but then again i dunno if thats what they used in the studio but they used those two when I saw them live quite a bit back
